Tupelo - Zera Mae Johnson, 76, died Sunday, February 12, 2012, at The Courtyard Nursing Center, Fulton, MS. A life-long Tupelo native, she was born July 3, 1935 to James Evans ?Jim? and Caroline ?Callie? Matilda Burleson Butler. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. She loved her family and loved to cook for family gatherings until her health declined. She wanted her children, grandchildren and family to know the Lord and would witness to them about Christ. She will be dearly missed by all of her family and friends.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Wexford Parmer officiating. Burial will be in Andrews Chapel Cemetery.
Survivors include one daughter, Enita Parker (David) of Saltillo; two sons, Alan Johnson of Mantachie and Steve Johnson (Teresa) of Peaceful Valley; ten grandchildren, Joey, Richard, Gregory and Jessica Johnson, Chad Parker (Ashlie), Josh Parker (Brooke), Amanda Rea (Brandon), Kellie Spratlin (Justin), Jennifer Brown and Trey Almond; ten great grandchildren, Tyler and Lakin Crane, Drew Farrar, T. J. and Brandon Johnson, Annabelle, Whit and Elijah Parker, Haidyn and Micah Parker; one sister, Tommie Smith of Jasper, Alabama.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 43 years, Josesph Ross Johnson; three brothers, James and Mitchell Burleson and Jimmy Butler.
Pallbearers will be Josh Parker, Joey and Gregory Johnson, Justin Spratlin, Brandon Rea and Trey Almond.
