Bud Reeves
SALTILLO - Winfred "Bud" Reeves, 84, died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2006, at Sanctuary Hospice House after an extended illness. He was born Sept. 19, 1922, in Lee County to Arthur Reeves and Lilly May Brooks Reeves. He was a retired employee of Lee Sports Wear where he had worked in the cutting department. He attended Barnes Crossing Baptist Church but was a member of Beech Springs Freewill Baptist Church. He loved to fish, watch boxing and rodeos and listening to music.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Saltillo Chapel of W. E. Pegues with the Rev. Tommy Whaley officiating. Burial will be in the Fellowship Cemetery.
Survivors include one daughter, Glinda Horton and Tommy of Saltillo; one son, Ray Reeves and Peggy of Saltillo; one sister-in-law, Ruby Reeves of Saltillo; one brother-in-law, Sam Brown and Earnestine of Frankstown; six grandchildren, Tammie Reeves Knott and Allen of Hackleburg, Ala., Sonya Hanna and Jeremy of Booneville, Christi Horton of Saltillo, Chris Horton and Dana of Birmingham Ridge, Dean Perry Jr. and Kim of Wren and Kimberly Ray and Jimmy of Nettleton; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 61 years who died Nov. 10, 2006, Lela Rae Reeves; one sister, Alice Vinson; and one brother, Leland Reeves.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time today at the funeral home.
