Winafred Herndon

Tupelo - Winafred Elizabeth Herndon, 91, passed away Monday, February 27, 2017, at the Reed House at Traceway. She was born April 19, 1925, to Louie and Majella Marmer. On May 19, 1945, Winafred married Robert Earl Herndon, and they were married for 64 years until his passing in 2010. She and her husband owned and operated Herndon Well and Supply, Inc. Winafred was an active supporter of Friends of the Library. She was very active with Girl Scouts of America and established Girl Scouting in Shannon. Winafred was instrumental to the design and layout of Camp Tika-witha in the 1960's. She was a member of Shannon United Methodist Church.
