Wilson D. Causey, Jr.

Macedonia Community - Wilson D. Causey, Jr., 59, died suddenly Friday night, February 24, 2012, at North Mississippi Medical Center. He was born May 1, 1952, in Pontotoc County to Dick and Martha Earlene Causey. After graduating from Belden High School, he was a mechanic at Coley Implement Company. He left that job to become a full-time farmer, and later owned a trucking business for a short time. After closing the trucking business, he was employed with the Southeastern Boll Weevil Eradication Program for a few years. Then he returned to his real love of farming, which he did up until the day he died. He was a member at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, but actively attended Belden Baptist Church. Services will be 2 p.m. Monday, February 27, 2012, at Belden Baptist Church, with Rev. Jim Manley and Rev. Jim Holcomb officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery in Belden. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Martha R. Causey of Macedonia Community; one son, Nathaniel "Nate" Causey (Genie Alice) of Birmingham Ridge community; one daughter, Wendy Sheffield (Kell) of Saltillo; his mother, Martha Hammons of Tupelo; two sisters, Joyce Montgomery of Saltillo and Betty Faye Taylor of Plantersville; his close friend and business partner, Jeff McCord. He was preceded in death by his father; his step-father, John Hammons; one sister, Nell Force; two grand children who preceded him in death before their birth. Pallbearers will be Paul Anglin, Stan Brock, Danny Coker, Jim Hettler, Frank Leggins, Jim Long, Jerry Marlin and Jerry Web. Visitation was held 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, February 26, 2012 at the funeral home, and will be continued 1 p.m. until service time Monday at the church.
