WILMA VINSON
Tupelo - WILMA VINSON, 85, died Monday, July 9, 2007, at The Meadows in Fulton after an extended illness. A Lee County native and lifelong Tupelo resident, she was born August 17, 1921 to the late Davis and Esther Payne. She owned and operated Vinson's Child Nursery for many years. She was a faithful member of West Main Church of Christ.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Bro. Charles Tharp and Bro. Russ Crosswhite officiating. Burial will be in Tupelo Memorial Park.
Survivors include one daughter, Carolyn Rasberry and husband, John, of Tupelo; one son, Sonny Vinson and wife, Melanie, of Tupelo; one sister, Sue Scott and husband, Hubert Earl, of Iuka; one brother, Charles Payne and wife, Jean, of Plantersville; three grandchildren, Johnny Rasberry of Dallas, Tex., Todd Rasberry and wife, Callie, of Florence, Ala., Blair Vinson of Tupelo; one step-great-grandson, Austin Kerr.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Ottis Vinson; one sister, Sittie Rial; three brothers, Buddy Payne, Tee Payne, and Carlos Payne.
Her nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
