Willow Dene Miller

August 3, 1932 — March 30, 2016

WILLOW DENE MILLER   Tupelo - Willow Dene Miller, 83, passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2016, at the North Mississippi Medical Center after an extended illness. She was born and raised in Itawamba County on August 3, 1932, to Jessie Alvie and Eulalia Franks Taylor. Willow Dene married Jimmy "Key Hole" Miller July 20, 1953, and they took great pride in their 62 year commitment to each other. She worked at the family lock store "Miller Safe and Lock Service" until she retired in 1994. She enjoyed taking care of her garden that included vegetables and flowers. Willow Dene was an excellent cook and loved having her family over for Sunday lunch until her health failed. She was a longtime and faithful member of West Jackson Street Baptist Church.   Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, April 1, 2016, at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Bro. Chris O'Daniel officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park.   Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Jimmy "Key Hole" Miller; sons, Garry Miller (Cathie) of Pontotoc, Alan Miller (Sharon) Endville and Tim Miller (Arianae) of Saltillo; grandchildren, Carla Chism (Chad), Brian Miller, Michelle Sheffield, Tommy Miller (Chanda), Allana Winkler (Brian), Josh Copeland (Lauren) and Rial Copeland (Jodi) and 10 great-grandchildren.   She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.   Pallbearers will be Kirby Hill, Bill Pennington, Billy Langford and Owen Martin.   Visitation will be 5 until 7 p.m. Thursday, March 31, 2016, at W. E. Pegues, Tupelo and one hour prior to service time Friday, April 1, 2016.   The family would like give a special thanks the staff of Avonlea.   Memorials may be made to the West Jackson Street Baptist Church building fund, 1349 West Jackson Street, Tupelo, MS 38801.   Expressions of sympathy may be left at www.peguesfuneralhome.com .
