William “Tommy” Harris
Richmond Community- William Roy “Tommy” Harris, Jr., 78, left this world for his heavenly home on Saturday, October 28, 2023. He was born on June 11, 1945, in Batesville, Arkansas; he was the son of William Roy Harris and Delpha Ruth Flippo Harris. Tommy was in the United States Army National Guard for several years. He was a self-employed insurance agent for most of his career. Tommy was a faithful and long-time member of the Houston and Tupelo Church of the Nazarene. He is a current member of Auburn Baptist Church. He enjoyed running, golfing, bowling, and spending time with family.
He leaves behind his wife of 57 years, Bobbie Jo Harris; daughters, Penny Holder (Phillip), and Crystal McMillen (Paul); sisters, Shirley Bennett, and Linda Hester; grandchildren, Nick Holder (Jeongin), Emilee Blanchard (Ben), Max Campbell (Jordan), Austin McMillen (Anna), Ashley Holder, little Austin McMillen, Natalie McMillen, Mary Ann McMillen, and Nelson McMillen; great-grandchildren, Maddox Campbell, Lily Blanchard, Laney McMillen, Leighton McMillen, Amelia Blanchard, Mason Hill, Chase McMillen, Kain Kennedy, and Carson McMillen; numerous nieces and nephews; and his special Korean grandson and granddaughter, James and Julia.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Roy and Delpha Ruth Harris; stepmother, Mary Harris; sister, Betty Sue Floyd; and his dog, Marilee.
Visitation will be 4 until 7 p.m. Monday, October 30, 2023, at Pegues, Tupelo.
Services honoring Tommy’s memory will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at the Jefferson Street Chapel of Pegues with Bro. Troy McConnell officiating. Graveside services with Military Honors will follow in Auburn Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Max Campbell, Austin McMillen, Ben Blanchard, Zack Mills, Austin Pannell, and Horacio Bocaranda.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Nick Holder, Maddox Campbell, and little Austin McMillen.
The family would like to express their gratitude to his friend/doctor, Dr. Jimmy Johnson, his hospice nurse, Emilee Wiygul King, his CNAs, and his social worker, Tara Underwood.
