William E. "Speedy" Rogers

WILLIAM EDWARD ROGERS "SPEEDY" Tupelo - William Edward Rogers, "Speedy", 79, passed away Monday, September 14, 2015, in his home. He was born October 11, 1935 to William Cylde and Myrtie Faye Butler Rogers. Speedy was a truck driver for many years. He was a Baptist by faith. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, September 17, 2015 at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues. A graveside service will follow at Shiloh Cemetery. Survivors include three children, William Eugene (Sharon) of Birmingham, Alabama, Theresa Rogers and Chris Rogers of Fulton; 14 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by both parents; one son, Richard Lynn Rogers, one brother, Jimmy Rogers and a special friend, Geraldine Hutcheson. Pallbearers will be Chris Rogers, William Chandler Rogers, Cary Forrester, Joe Wilkins, Gene Rogers, Ben Rogers and Scott Wilkins. Honorary pallbearers will be Rusty Rogers, Tony Mitchell and Robert Parker. Visitation will be 5 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at W. E. Pegues, Tupelo.
