ST. CHARLES, Ill. - William Connie "Bill" Petigo, 77, died Saturday, Jan. 10, 2009, in St. Charles, Ill. A native of Itawamba County, he was born Sept. 4, 1931, to the late Andrew Jackson "Jack" Petigo and Sally M. Roberts Petigo. He was a former resident of the Kirkville community and a member of the Baptist church. In the early 1960s he moved from Mississippi to St. Charles, where he retired from the Coca Cola Bottling Company in St. Charles with more than 35 years of service.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Saltillo Chapel of W.E. Pegues with the Rev. Bert Harper officiating. Burial will be in the Kirkville Cemetery.
Survivors include three brothers, James A. Petigo (Sudie) of Saltillo, T.J. Petigo (Clara) of Piggott, Ark., and Dewey Petigo (Patti) of Columbus; one sister, Delois West of Tupelo.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Lavania Duncan, Lucille Davis, Ruby Mitchell and Lura Barnes; and six brothers, Kenneth, Derell, Andrew, Rufus and Ruble Petigo, and Rubin Jackson.
Pallbearers will be Prentiss Petigo, B.J. Petigo, Jimmy Petigo, Robert Lee Hall, Dwayne Petigo and Zack Petigo.
Honorary pallbearers will be his nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Saltillo Funeral Home.
