William Mooney

March 29, 1951 — February 10, 2009

Tupelo " William Bill Mooney, 57, died Tuesday, February 10, 2009, at his residence after an extended illness. A native of Pawtuckett, R.I., he was born March 29, 1951 to Harold R. and Georgia Brenner Mooney. He was a U.S. Marine Corp Veteran of the Vietnam War. He met his wife, Debbie, in Claremont, New Hampshire and married May 25, 1974. They lived there ten years prior to moving to Grenada with his job at Georgia Pacific. They later moved to Tupelo where they spent the past 14 years, where he worked for Norbord Miss. Inc. in Guntown as plant manager. He was an avid golfer and loved collecting Corvettes,two of which are on display at the Tupelo Automobile Museum. He was a member of the Methodist church

Memorial Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Jim Fisher officiating.

Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Debbie Mooney, of Tupelo; two daughters, Michelle Lowry and Erica Gailor, both of Tupelo; two sisters, Donna Coloura of Texas and Peggy Perrault of Pawtuckett, RI; his brother, Ronald Mooney of Dublin,Ohio; four grandchildren, Daniel Lowry, Jacob Lowry, Parker Gailor and Morgan Gailor, all of Tupelo.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Richard Mooney.

Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
