WILLIAM ROSS McCARVER
TupeloWilliam Ross McCarver, 84, died Friday, January 27, 2006. A native of Pontotoc County, he was born November 28, 1921 to the late William Preston and Emily Huey McCarver. After graduating from Mississippi State with a Bachelor of Science degree, he worked as an assistant supervisor for Farmers Home Administration for many years. He was a member of Harrisburg Baptist Church.
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Harrisburg Baptist Church with the Rev. David Langerfeld officiating. Burial will be in Tupelo Memorial Park. W.E Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Christine Neely Osborn McCarver, of Tupelo; one daughter, Rachel Joy Deason and husband, Doug, of Houston, TX; one son, Thomas Ross McCarver and wife, Terri, of Brandon, MS; two step-children, Wayne Osborn of Amory, and Patsy Rhodes of New Albany; one sister, Jean Loftin; one brother, James Lewis McCarver, both of Pontotoc; five grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Annie Juanita McCarver; and one brother, Kenneth Wayne McCarver.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
