William Joyner
TUPELO - William Gardner Joyner, 66, died Saturday, April 28, 2007, at his home. He was born Feb. 11, 1941, in Tupelo to the late Thomas Lee and Ione Gardner Joyner. He graduated from Tupelo High School in 1959 and from the University of Mississippi in 1962. After graduation, he joined the accounting firm of PriceWaterhouseCoopers in New Orleans. He became a partner in 1975. During his career he also lived in New York, Memphis, Los Angeles and Dallas. He retired in 1989 and returned to Tupelo in 2006.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Glenwood Cemetery. The Rev. Scott Lees will officiate. W.E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include one sister, Jo Anne Dempsey; one brother, James Russell Williams (Carlene); nieces and nephews, Mary Ruth Wright (Tommy), Nancy Thompson (Blake), James Russell Williams Jr., Christine Mitchell, Joseph Russell Williams, Leslie Joyner Bobo (Joel) and Margaret Joyner Kruse (Tim); 12 great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Thomas Lee Joyner Jr.; a nephew, Thomas Lee Joyner III; and his stepmother, Ruth White Joyner.
There will be no public visitation.
