WILLIAM FRANK HUMPHREYS, JR.
Coles Point - William Frank Humphreys, Jr., 68, passed away Sunday, August 11, 2013, at the North Mississippi Medical Center, Hospice Unit. A New Albany native, he was born February 9, 1945, to William Frank and Syble Lois Stevens Humphreys. After 15 years of service, he retired from the Memphis Press-Scimitar as Distribution Manager. A United States Army veteran, he served in Vietnam from 1967 to 1973. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Both his grandparents, William Thomas and Bonnie McCarty Humphreys, had a very significant part in his childhood and continued up to his adulthood. He was of the Baptist faith.
Services with military honors will be 11 a.m. Saturday on September 14, 2013 at Ellistown Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Powell officiating. Burial will be in New Harmony Cemetery.
Survivors include one sister, Geanna H. Powell (David) of Kingsport, Tennessee; two brothers, William David Humphreys (Sherry) of Saltillo and Traugott Humphreys of Clarksville, Tennessee.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Allan Lee Humphreys; his grandparents, Jim Steven and Kate Mashburn.
Visitation will be 10 ? 11 a.m., Saturday, on September 14, 2013 at the Church with military honors.
Honorary pallbearers will be the First Baptist Church.
