William David “Wild Bill” Jackson

Brewer Community- William David “Wild Bill” Jackson was one out of four children born to Charles and Helen Jackson of Plantersville, Mississippi.
After graduation Wild Bill decided his calling in life was to serve and protect the ones he loved and his country by enlisting in the United States Marine Corps in 1973. After serving in the USMC he enlisted into the United States National Guard, where he served in several different states from 1977until 1987. Bill decided at the ripe young age of 49 that he wanted to re-enlist in 2004 to serve his country one last time. Wild Bill was a decorated veteran who loved his country and his family.
When civilian life came about he enjoyed spending his time with his family and his best friend, James Thomas “Tommy” Ruff, Jr. He then grew attached to his best friend’s little girls where he stayed to make sure they had a male role model to look up to after Tommy’s passing. Bill resided in Brewer Community and attended the Brewer United Methodist Church. He became the man several young adults looked up to and came to for advice about serving their country.
William David “Bill” Jackson’s life will be cherished and remembered by sister-in-law, Baretta “Moke” Jackson; nieces, Samantha Gail Maxcy, Megan Jackson, and Nikki Jackson; nephews, Dusty Jackson, and Steven Jackson; special great-nieces, Re’ Anna Edwards and Jordan Edwards; as well as, close friends, Cynthia Ruff, Moses Ruff (Valerie), Kelly Hendrix (Brian), and Kayla Criddle (Patrick), Jordan Kelly, Madelyn Kelly, and Sophia Kelly.
He was preceded in death by both of his parents, Charles William Jackson,and Helen Marie Hall Jackson; brothers, Charles Michael Jackson, and Steven Lee Jackson; a sister, Cynthia Gail Jackson; and best friend, James Thomas “Tommy” Ruff, Jr.
A private graveside service celebrating Wild Bill’s life will be held at Brewer Cemetery.
