JOHN MILLER Tupelo - John Wiley Miller, 84, died Saturday, November 3, 2012 at his home. He was born February 12, 1928 in Lowndes County to Lena Reeves and George Miller. He graduated from New Hope High School and then Draughn's Business College in Jackson. He served in the Corp of Engineers from 1945 - 47 serving twelve months in Korea. He married Joyce McCrary in 1948 and moved to Tupelo in 1950. He worked at Mid-South Packers as a salesman and later as Sales Manager for thirty-eight years and Wheel Estate Mobile Homes fourteen years. He was a member of Calvary Baptist for thirty years before moving to the Brewer Community and joining Brewer Baptist Church. He was a deacon at both churches. He served as liaison between builder and the church when the new church was built at Brewer. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at Brewer Baptist Church with Keith Wiseman officiating and Rev. Tim Tutor assisting. Graveside services at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday in Mt. Vernon Baptist Cemetery, Columbus, Mississippi. W.E. Pegues Funeral Directors will be in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include his wife of sixty-four years, Joyce Miller; one son, John Wiley Miller, Jr. (Judy) of Jackson; two daughters, Beverly Miller Oliver (Don) of Hodges, Alabama and Fran Miller Foster (Don) of Midevale, Utah; one brother, Donald Miller (Joyce) of Columbus; five grandchildren, April Daniel (Scott), Natalie Bendall (Brett), Matt Jackson (Heather), Josh Miller and Jennifer Miller; six great-grandchildren; one nephew, Chip Miller. He was preceded in death by his parents. Pallbearers will be Josh Miller, Chip Miller, Neil Wiseman, Matt Wiseman, Cliff Tidwell and John Harris Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Long's Sunday School Class.
