WILBURN T. SMITH

Tupelo - Wilburn T. Smith, 71, died Monday, July 9, 2007, at his home after an extended illness. A Lee County native and long time resident, he was born December 24, 1935 to the late Floyd M. and Mittie Jane Doty Smith. He worked as a superintendant for Ballard's Engineer and Tank Company in Massachusettes and also for Daniel Construction in North Carolina. He enjoyed fishing and cattle and spending time with grandchildren. He was a member of Union Grove Church of God.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, July 13, 2007 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Bro. Bob Garman officiating. Burial will be in Fellowship Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife Joyce Robbins Smith of Tupelo; his son Rickey Smith of Tupelo; two daughters,Sheila Kay Odom of Bay Springs and Laura Jean Mooneyhan of Tupelo; a brother, Memory Carlton Smith of Utah; and ten grandchildren,

Pallbearers will be Jeff Carnathan, Mitchell Scruggs, Butch Glidwell, David Card, Charles McKnatt, and Terry Guess.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Joe Murphy, Randle Timms, Jimmy D. Shelton and Patrick Stow.

Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday and noon until service time Friday at the funeral home.
