Amory - Wayne Shelton Williamson, 67, died Wednesday, May 16, 2012, at The North Mississippi Medical Center after an extended illness. He was born in Choccolocco, Alabama on October 25, 1944, to Shelton Millard and Florence Arrilla Cobb Williamson. He graduated from Jacksonville High School in Jacksonville, Alabama in 1963 and attended Jacksonville State University until he was drafted into the Army. He was a United States Army veteran. He was a member of St. Michael's Episcopal Church in Fayette, Alabama. He retired after many years of service as a store manager for Winn Dixie, Quality Foods and Piggly Wiggly. He was an avid Parrothead, fisherman and golfer. Stateroom services with military honors will be 3 p.m., Saturday, May 19, 2012 at the funeral home. Survivors include his wife of forty years, Susan Arlisa Pound Williamson; his children, Kahrensa "Koko" King (Chris) of Guntown and Mike Williamson (Clarissa) of Becker; eight grandchildren, Hunter and Colton King, Lakin, Erin, Coby, Mason, Alex and Addy Williamson; one sister, Jane Williamson of Estill Springs, Tennessee; a host of nieces, nephews and great nieces; his mother, Florence C. Williamson of Anniston, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his father; his brother during the Vietnam Conflict, 1st Lt. James Calvin Williamson.
