Tupelo - WAYNE DOUGLAS STERLING, 57, died Friday, August 3, 2007, at Residence after an extended illness. A Gunnison, MS native, he was born March 22, 1950 to the late Joseph Lee and Ruby Lawson Sterling. He was raised in Pace, MS. He attended Rosedale High School. He was a Vietnam Veteran in the US Army.
Memorial Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors.
Survivors include His wife of 16 years Sharon Sterling of Tupelo: two daughters Lisa Sterling of Chicago and Nikki Sterling of Tupelo: two step-daughters Angel Salley of Tupelo and Laura Griffin and her husband Spence of Cleveland: one step granddaughter Kate Griffin and one step grandson Brayden Salley; one brother James David Lawson of Effingham ILL and several nieces and nephews..
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters Dorthy Nation and Shirley Blaylock; one brother Joseph Lee Sterling, Jr.
Visitation will be Monday from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
