WAYNE ROBERTSSaltillo - Wayne Hobson Roberts, 77, charter member of Faith Baptist Church, passed away Friday, January 20, 2017 at the Mississippi State Veterans Home in Oxford after a lengthy illness. He was born in the Ellistown Community on June 20, 1939 to Leon and Hellen Hobson Roberts. Wayne served his country in the United States Navy for 5 years. He married Shirley Duke on June 2, 1961, and they moved to Saltillo shortly after. He worked for 20 years at Pennsylvania Tire and Rubber Co. until their closing. He retired as a maintenance supervisor from the Natchez Trace Park Service after 20 years. Wayne was a member of the Saltillo Masonic Lodge. He loved working with horses. Wayne was a handy man and enjoyed tinkering in his shop. He had a servant’s heart and helped anyone he could that was in need. Wayne loved his Lord and his family. He was a charter member and a Deacon of Faith Baptist Church.
