Wayne Morton
Tupelo - James Wayne Morton, 66, died Friday, July 20, 2018, at North Mississippi Medical Center from an extended illness. He was born December 1, 1951, to Adolphus Morton and Stella Colburn Morton in Tupelo. He served in the United States Army from 1968 until 1971. On December 2, 1988, he married Julie Morton in Houston, Texas. He worked in construction with a focus on vinyl siding. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing and hunting. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Julie Morton of Tupelo, MS; one daughter, Kim Robbins and her husband Brandon of Ingomar; two sons, Eric Bivins and his wife Jordana of Alberta, Canada and Aaron Bivins and his wife Amy of Guntown; six grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; one sister Faye Swan and her husband Grady of Saltillo; one brother Ray Morton and his wife Louise of Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son Shawn Morton; and one brother Alfred "Bill" Riggins.
Visitation will be from 4 until 7 p.m. Sunday, July 22, 2018, at W. E. Pegues, Tupelo.
Graveside services with Military Honors will be 11 a.m. Monday, July, 23, 2018 at Tupelo Memorial Park with Rev. Danny Robbins officiating. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Robbins, Aaron Bivins, Eric Bivins, Jeff May, Larry Kilo, and Jonathan Christian.
