Wayne Hogue

October 25, 1954 — March 31, 2008

Tupelo - HOWARD WAYNE HOGUE, JR., 53, died Monday, March 31, 2008, at the Oktibbeha County Hospital after a sudden illness. A native of east Union County, he was born October 25, 1954 to Howard Wayne and Betty Richardson Hogue. He graduated from East Union High School and attended Blue Mountain College where he studied church music. He later earned his nursing degree from Moorhead College. He worked at the Webster County Hospital for nine years as a registered nurse and 19 years in the Intensive Care Unit for North Mississippi Medical Center. He also served as Minister of Music at Lakeview Baptist Church for over 15 years. Previously, he had also worked in the Bus Ministry for the church. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Pastor Robert Garland and Rev. Harold Adair officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.

Survivors include His wife of 19 years, Linda Clark Hogue of Tupelo; three sons, Shane Hogue and wife, Traci, of Starkville, Josh Hogue and wife, Jodi, of Starkville, and Edward Hogue and wife, Christy, of Maben; seven grandchildren, Anthony Britt, Jacey Hogue, Abbi Hogue, Tucker Hogue, Brody Hogue, Christopher Hogue, and Jade Hogue; a sister, Rebecca Easley and husband, Kenny, of Keownville; his parents, Wayne and Betty Hogue of Alpine.

He was preceded in death by his son, Jason Gatlin.

Pallbearers will be John Blackman, Jim Betzing, Jim Pitts, Bobby Smith, Johnny Lindley, Ron Bost, Thomas Bowles, and Wesley Hunt.

Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
