WAURENE HEFLIN Tupelo - Waurene Heflin, 81, a long time and faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church, went to be with her Lord and Savior Monday, May 2, 2016, at North Mississippi Medical Center. She was born in Chickasaw County on October 9, 1934 to J. T., Jr. and Esta McKibben Clark. She graduated in 1952 from Itawamba Junior College. Waurene married Lloyd D. Heflin in 1955. Her most cherished gift from God was her daughter Rhiannon. She was the proud owner of Fulton Flowers and Gifts. She worked as a real estate agent for more than 40 years most recently with Crye-Leike Real Estate. Waurene was very active in her community. She was on the board of the Elvis Presley Museum and Community Development Foundation. Waurene and Rhiannon being avid MSU fans, attended many of their games with the late Jack Cristil. She was very involved with the youth at Calvary and taught Sunday School. Waurene had a servant's heart and volunteered at Sanctuary Hospice House. She was a woman of devotion and prayer. She kept her eyes on God's plan and knew He was always working for good. She lived by the phrase she often shared, "You can give without loving, but you can't love without giving." Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, May 5, 2016, at Calvary Baptist Church with Dr. Bryant Barnes and Rev. Jim Yates officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be 5 until 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 4, 2016, at W. E. Pegues, Tupelo.Survivors include one daughter, Rhiannon Heflin; two brothers, Van Evans Clark of Mount Home, Arkansas and Jesse M. Clark (Sandra) of Daleville, Indiana; sister, Alma Anne Parker of Houston. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Lloyd D. Heflin; brother, Byron Clark and special friend, Jack Cristil. Pallbearers will be Bob McCord, Pat Nunnelee, Joe Upton, Jim Epps, Jerry Wiese, Wilford Roberts and Jason Clark. Memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 501 W. Main Street, Tupelo, MS 38804 and the music department at First Baptist Church in Houston, 201 W. Madison Street, Houston, MS 38851. Expressions of sympathy may be left at www.peguesfuneralhome.com .
