Brewer Community- Wanda Hattaway Kingsley Smith, 79, passed away Monday, June 3, 2019, surrounded by family, at North Mississippi Medical Center. She was born in Okolona, September 20, 1939 to Hugh and Ailene Smith Hattaway. Wanda's greatest joy was her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a great cook and often cooked meals for her family and friends.
Survivors include two daughters, Michelle Wilson of Mantachie, Melissa Kingsley Eddings (Wade) of Lexington, South Carolina; son, Douglas Kingsley, Jr. of Texas; seven grandchildren, Rachel Estrada (Robert) of Hamilton, Alabama, Russell Fowler of Lexington, South Carolina, Austin Kingsley of Simpsonville, South Carolina, Naomi Kinglsey of Simpsonville; Alishia Banks of Shallotte, North Carolina, Brock Banks (Josetta) of Shallotte and Tamara Frey of Spartanburg, South Carolina; and nine great-grandchildren, Isaiah, Jasmine, Natalie, Timothy, Danielle, Autumn, Aniyah, Jackie and Brock Bank, II and one brother, Bradford Hattaway.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, William Douglas Kingsley; second husband, David M. Smith; and step-daughter, Jackie Smith.
A memorial service will be 7 p.m. Friday, June 7, 2019 at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues.
