Wanda Fay Richey, 81, died Wednesday, June 19, 2019. A native of Tupelo, she was born November 7, 1937 to Lee L. and Lucy Jane Hall Raper and was a graduate of Tupelo High School. She later became a licensed cosmetologist and worked as an instructor of cosmetology for over 40 years before retiring from Creations School of Cosmetology in 2012. Wanda loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and enjoyed watching sports on television, playing card games and sewing. She served as a member of the Ladies of the Auxiliary with the VFW. She was also a member of Saltillo First Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include three sons, Eddie Richey and his wife, Angie of Saltillo, Andy Richey and his wife, Lisa of Booneville and Mike Richey and his wife, Tacy of Tupelo; 10 grandchildren, Drew Richey and his wife, Catherine of Tupelo, Brent Green and his wife, Nicole of Saltillo, Ashley Brock of Saltillo, Kayce Arends and her husband, Jason of Caledonia, Chelle Draughn and her husband, Shawn of Hattiesburg, William Richey and his wife, Tiffany of Gallatin, Tennessee, John Cousar of Starkville, Mallory Silvia and her husband, Chance of Saltillo, Taryn Thomas and her husband, Steven of Tupelo and Tory Gifford and his wife, Anna Grace of Mooreville; 18 great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Laverne Raper.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Lucy Raper; sister, Bessie Lee Richardson; and three brothers, James Milford Raper, William Fred Raper and John Perry Raper.
Visitation will be 1:30 p.m. until service time Saturday, June 22, 2019 at W.E. Pegues, Saltillo.
Services honoring her life will be 3:30 p.m. Saturday, June 22, 2019 at the Saltillo Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Rev. Dan Rupert officiating. Private family graveside services will be in Fellowship Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jason Arends, Mike Dillard, Stephen Bailey, Randy Webb, Tory Gifford, Billy Glidewell and Malcomb Driskill.
Honorary pallbearers will be past students of Creations School of Cosmetology.
