VIRGINIA WESTER
Tupelo - Virginia Wester, 87, passed away Friday, December 22, 2017, at her home. She was born May 15, 1930. Virginia was a cosmetologist and spent 40 years as the owner of Virginia's Beauty Shop. She was a current member of Bissell Baptist Church and a past member of Harrisburg Baptist Church. She was very active in Bissell Boosters Senior Adult club, and taught Sunday school for a number of years. Virginia loved to cook and enjoyed attending auctions and collecting. She adored Suzy, her Pomeranian.
Survivors include her grandson, Robert Harris (Cassie) of Tupelo; great-grandchildren, Eli, Cooper and Milla Harris and one nephew, James Petty of Tupelo.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 63 years before his passing in 2010, Robert Wester; daughter, Peggy Harris; brother, Horace Petty and sister, Lottie Mae Jernigan.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with visitation from 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday. Rev. Roger Smith will be officiating and burial will be in Tupelo Memorial Park.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of Ann Hall Sunday school class of Bissell Baptist Church.
