VIrginia D. Sneed
February 16, 1921 — April 22, 2018
Tupelo - Virginia Dorcas Sneed, loving lovingly known at "Gigia" to her family, 97, died Sunday, April 22, 2018, at Traceway Retirement Community. She was born in Pontotoc County February 16, 1921, to Abb Newborn and Dorothy Price Sneed. She graduated from Central High School in Jackson and worked for GMAC for 25 years. Virginia found great joy in cooking, traveling and spending time with her family. "Gigia" loved life and everyone she met. She was a charter member of St. Luke United Methodist Church.
The family would like to say a special thank you to Traceway for her many years there and also to the staff of Southern Hospice for caring for her.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews and their children who considered her more like a grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Newborn Sneed and his wife, Agnes, Bill Sneed, Jim Sneed and his wife, Mary Ann and Price Sneed and his wife, Bitty.
Private graveside services will be held at a later date by the family in Lakewood Cemetery in Jackson.
Memorials may be made to St. Luke United Methodist Church, 1400 Clayton Ave Tupelo, MS 38804.
