Virginia Lindsey
Mooreville- Virginia Thomason Lindsey, 86, passed away on January 16, 2017, at her residence in Mooreville. She was born March 13, 1930, in the Longview Community of Pontotoc County to John E. and Mamie Hall Thomason. She was a 1948 graduate of Tupelo High School. After graduation Virginia started working for Caldwell Furniture where she met the love of her life, Pat Lindsey. In 1958, they move to Okolona where she and Pat owned and operated L and S Furniture and Appliance Company. They returned to Tupelo in 1968, and she worked several jobs until retirement in 1992. After their retirement Virginia and Pat moved to Mooreville. She was a faithful member of Auburn Baptist Church and especially enjoyed the fellowship there.
She is survived by her son, Michael Lindsey (Jane) of Tremont; a daughter, Julie Murphy (Billy) of Mooreville; seven grandchildren, Kim Penny (Nic) of Oakland, Tennessee, Andy Lindsey of Oakland, Tennessee, Bill West (Anna) of Shannon, Brad Murphy (Alison) of Mooreville, Amy Cates (Jamie) of Mantachie, Rickey Lindsey (Lise) of Tupelo and Billy Murphy, Jr. (Angela) of Biloxi; four sisters, Grace Clayton of Pontotoc, Mildred McCord of Tupelo, Marilyn Cooper (Jim) of Wilmington, North Carolina and Eleanor Spalding (Bud) of Trenton, Tennessee; one brother, John E. Thomason, Jr. of New Albany; a brother-in-law, Andy D. Lindsey (Madeline) of Smithville; 18 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Pat Lindsey, parents and sister, Marie Brown.
Services honoring Virginia's life will be 2 p.m. Wednesday January 18, 2017, at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with. Rev. Jimmy Henry officiating. Burial will be in Turon Community Cemetery.
Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers will be her ladies 3 Sunday School Class from Auburn Baptist Church.

Visitation will be from 12 p.m. until service time Wednesday.
