VIRGIE LOU O'NEAL
Tupelo - VIRGIE LOU O'NEAL, 91, died Monday, February 5, 2007, at her residence after an extended illness. A native of McDowell County, West Virginia, she was born August 15, 1915 to the late Jasper and Melinda Harmon Green. She worked several years at the Holiday Inn and the Trace Inn in Tupelo
Services will be 3:30 p.m. Thursday, at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Mr. Sammy Lansdell and Rev. Scott Witcher officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park.
Survivors include her children, Donna Freeman, Carol Rubio both of Tupelo, Patricia Murphy (Oneal) of Guntown, Linda Thompson (Benford) of Okolona, Aleta Jo Fox and (Rodger) of Creal Springs, Il., Charles Keith O'neal ( Betty) of Plantersville, Kermit O'Neal (Kathy) of Antioch, Il., Noble O'neal of Tupelo, and Michael O'Neal (Lisa) of Rochester, N.Y.; 46 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Noble Allen O'Neal; one son, Kenneth Allen O'Neal; one granddaughter, Virginia Guyrin; two sisters, Mary Green Lane and Pearl Green Brooks; and six brothers, Clarence, William, Alford, George, Forest, and Walter Green.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Terry Stafford, Greg Stafford, Myles Terry, Sam Terry, Brian Morgan, and John Cole.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Benford Thompson and Oneal Murphy.
Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
