Bartlett, TN-Violet Canup Edwards, 105, died June 21, 2008, in Tupelo, MS, at the home of her grandson following a brief illness . She was a resident of Bartlett, TN and a member of Bartlett Baptist Church. She was born in Benton, KY on March 2, 1903 to Charlie Canup and Emma Tynes
Visitation is Friday, June 27, 2008 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Filbeck & King Funeral Home in Benton , KY. The funeral is at 11:00 a.m. Saturday with Bro. Charlie Canup officiating.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Estil Edwards, and four sisters, Edith Riley, Dovie Matlock, Lila Gleaves, and Ada Holland. Her survivors are one daughter, Rosalou Edwards Williams of Bartlett, two grandsons, Michael Charles Hamlet (Rhonda) of Dallas, TX, Timothy Edwards Hamlet (Teresa) of Tupelo, MS, three great-grandaughters, Andrea Chaddick (Marlin) of Amarillo, TX, Angela (Dave) Fiordilisio of Copigue, NY, Cassidy Hamlet Baulo (Tim) of Tueplo, MS; and 5 great-great grand children, Amanda Lutz of Phoeniz, AZ, Ryan and Colin Dean, of Hailey, ID, A.J. and Hailey Fiordilisio of Copigue, NY.
The family asks that memorials be sent to Feed the Children, a charity she supported for more than 20 years.
