Viola "Ms Vi" Snipes

VIOLA SNIPES Verona - Viola "Ms Vi" Snipes, 87, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, January 7, 2015, at the North Mississippi Medical Center, Hospice Unit. She was born in Houston, Mississippi on June 21, 1927, to Turner and Adell Nichols King. For 38 years, she worked at the North Mississippi Medical Center in the business office and visitor control and was honored with twenty years of the perfect attendance award. She was a very sweet, kind hearted and gentle person who always greeted people with a quick smile. Her children and family hold cherished memories of a very loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt. A Celebration of Life Service will be 2 p.m. Friday, January 9, 2015, at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Wayne Frederick officiating with words of reflection by grandsons, Scott Holcomb and Heath Holcomb and nephew, Jimmy King. A private family graveside service will follow at Lee Memorial Park. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements. Those left to carry on Ms Vi's memory include two daughters, Gladys Rogers of Verona and Joy Holcomb of Cumming, Georgia; four grandchildren, Jennifer Watts of Olive Branch, Robin Gordon (Reggie) of Wren, Scott Holcomb (Sherri) of Powder Springs, Georgia, and Heath Holcomb (Tracy) of Cumming, Georgia; one brother, James "Toby" King (Christine) of Beech Springs Community; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, B.C. Snipes; and one son, Don Snipes; one brother, Hugh Lee King. Pallbearers will be Scott Holcomb, Heath Holcomb, Jimmy King, Jamie King, Darrell King, and Derrick King. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Holcomb, Jerry McLarty Austin Grubbs. Visitation will be 12 to 2 p.m. Friday at W. E. Pegues, Tupelo.
