VIOLA E. THOMAS
Belden - Viola Estelle Thomas, 84, died Tuesday, April 18, 2006, at the North Mississippi Medical Center after an extended illness. A Huntsville native, she was born March 11, 1922 to the late John Bryant and Lille C. Michael Ivey. Along with her husband, W.C Thomas, she owned and operated Warren's Upholstery and Drapery for many years. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles and Whitesox Baseball. She was a member of Belden Baptist Church where she was involved with the Keen-Agers and the Quilters.
Services will be 1 P.M. Friday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Dr. Don Baggett and Rev. Owen Riddick officiating. Burial will be in Tupelo Memorial Park.
Survivors include one son, Jim Thomas and wife Pat of Belden; three grandchilden, Seth Thomas of Saltillo, Shana Basden and husband, Randy, of Blue Springs, Michael Boyd of Hattiesburg; and one great-grandchild, Skylar Thomas of Saltillo; one son-in-law, Danny Boyd of Belden; three sisters; Mrs. Rose King of Huntsville, AL, Audrey Rial of Belden, and Mrs. Eula Mitchell and husband Hoyt, of Georgia; one brother, Johnny Ivey of Georgia; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 57 years, Warren Calvin Thomas; one daughter Linda Boyd; one son, John R. Thomas; one sister, Mary Arnold of North Carolina.
Pallbearers will be, Seth Thomas, Randy Basden, Michael Boyd, Glenn King, W.T. Rial and Russell Maxie.
Honorary pallbearer will be Danny Boyd
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home and from 11 until service time Friday.
