TRUMAN VINCENT "VINCE" COLE Aberdeen- Truman Vincent "Vince" Cole, 73, died peacefully and surrounded by those he loved Thursday, April 2, 2015, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, Miss. Vince, affectionately called "Rusty" by his family, was born August 23, 1941, in Kermit, Texas, to Harold Lamar and Frances Eileen Cole. Always at the ready with his sharp and unique dry wit, Vince made life fun for those around him and will be greatly missed. He was a loving and dedicated son, husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend and was always at the ready to help anyone in need, from loved ones to total strangers. Vince never met a challenge that did not pique his interest, and he tackled with zeal many and varied endeavors throughout his life, including oil-field laborer, photographer, manufacturer, tool-and-die maker/machinist, and even record-label owner. Among his proudest accomplishments were serving as president of Gulf Coast Tool and Die in Gulfport, Miss., and owning and operating Cole Framing Equipment in Gulfport and Cole Equipment in Mooreville and Shannon, Miss. Away from work, Vince was an avid antique-car collector and science-fiction movie and book enthusiast. He was also passionately dedicated to the restoration of his beloved Bella Vida home in Aberdeen, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2015, at W.E. Pegues Funeral Directors in Tupelo with graveside services to be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, April 9, 2015, at Old Biloxi Cemetery in Biloxi, Miss. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Lynda Leigh Cole; his son, Darin (Michelle) Cole of Memphis, Tenn.; his daughter, Jeannie (Jason) Grandin of Tupelo; his daughter, Heidi (David) Chapman of Plantersville, Miss.; his daughter, Bevin (Adam) Jones of Panama City Beach, Fla.; his sister, Charlotte Caroline (Don) Johnson of Muscle Shoals, Ala.; his grandchildren, Colby Parker, Devin Parker, Katelyn Grandin, Tony Cole, Joshua Grandin, Maggie-Mae Grandin, Alex Chapman, Violet Cole and Lilly-Anne Chapman; his great-grandson, Rowen Parker; his step-grandsons, Zac West and Aaron Chapman; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, both of Biloxi.
