Tupelo - Victor Morgan, 87, died Saturday, August 14, 2010, at Community Hospice at Darlington Oaks after an extended illness. He was born November 13, 1922 in Choctaw County to John and Lula Booth Morgan. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the United States Army. He lived the last 58 years in Tupelo. He was a member of West Jackson Street Baptist Church. He worked at Delta/Rockwell International for 25 years. After retirement he spent the last 20 years of his life enjoying his passion for woodworking and crafts. Every year that he lived on Main Street across from Ballard Park he would decorate his yard completely in the Christmas spirt. He enjoyed camping and traveling with his family.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday, August 16, 2010 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Bert Harper officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Kathryn Morgan; two grandchildren, Vickie Morgan Cochran (Josh) and Brad Morgan (Amanda); two great grandchildren, Bella Cochran and Chase Morgan all of Tupelo; one sister, Rosie Pell of California; sister-in-law, Helen Morton (Clell) of Franklin, North Carolina.
He was preceded in death by one son, Larry Morgan; his parents; two brothers and four sisters.
Pallbearers will be Ricky Morgan, John Morgan, Billy Mitchell, Keith Manning and Carl Manning.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Charles Palmer, Richard Stults and Clell Morton.
Visitation will be 12 - 2 p.m. Monday, August 16, 2010 at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to West Jackson Street Baptist Church or Community Hospice at Darlington Oaks.
