VERNON LEE KEITH Eggville Community - Vernon Lee Keith, 83, of the Eggville Community went to be with his Lord and Savior, November 28, 2013, at the Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo, MS. He was born April 10, 1930, to Thomas Sylvester and Frankie McCraw Keith in Lee County. He was a member of Hebron United Methodist Church where he served in the years prior to his illness as the Adult Sunday School Teacher. He also served as lay speaker. He loved serving the Lord and sharing his word. A proud veteran, he served in the Korean War. He was a retired brick mason and carpenter. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, reading his Bible and spending time with his family and friends. Services will be Sunday, December 1st at 2 p.m. at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Rev. Tim Green officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, November 30th, 2013, from 5 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Eggville Cemetery. Survivors include three children, Patty Farris (David) and Ramona Farris (Malcolm) all of the Auburn Community and Marty Keith of the Eggville Community; seven grandchildren, Casey Curtis (Mark) of the Auburn Community, Amber Palmer (Allen) of Olive Branch, Ashley Simmons (Will) of Enid, Oklahoma, Cody Keith (Samantha) of Great Lakes, Illinois, Courtney Farris of the Auburn Community, Britt Keith of the Eggville Community and Haley Keith and fiancé Tyler Herring of the Eggville Community; six great-grandchildren, Andrew, Abbey, Aiden, Harper, Emma and Hunter; three brothers, Gilbert Keith (Estelle) and Leo Keith (Lenoree) all of Mooreville and Grady Keith (Josie) of the Eggville Community. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, LoEva Lamb Keith; one son, Terry Lee Keith; three brothers, Herman Keith, Leon Keith and Cleo Keith; two sisters, Velma Roberts and Stella Mae Knight. Pallbearers will be Cody Keith, Britt Keith, Mark Curtis, Allen Palmer, Ben Hardin, Wade Keith, Ronnie Keith and Jerry Keith. Honorary pallbearers will be Will Simmons, Doug Lamb, Ricky Lamb, Greg Lamb and the Hebron United Methodist Church Adult Sunday School Class.
