Vera Katherine Sparkman Watson went to be with the Lord Thursday, February 22, 2018 surrounded by her family. She was born in Webster County August 21, 1930, to Woody Theodore and Clara Kolb Sparkman. Her greatest joy in life was caring for her family. Vera was a member of First Baptist Church Verona.
Survivors include eight children, Kathryn and Alfred Tate of the Brewer Community, Denise and Keith Wiseman of Brewer, William Thomas "Tommy" Jr. and Debbie Watson of Kossuth, Woody and Julie Watson of Belmont, Julia and Wesley Morgan of Aberdeen, Mike and Sonya Watson of the Old Union Community, Bryant Watson of Brewer, Lee and Tina Watson of Guntown; two sisters, Eula Mae Shaw of Walthall, Jane Sparkman of Eupora; in-laws, Sue and Clarence Boatman of Eupora, Edward Watson of Round Rock, Texas, Charles and Carnell Watson of Tupelo, Thelma Sparkman of Eupora, Bennie Watson of Tampa, Florida; 24 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 52 years, William Thomas Watson, Sr.; and six siblings, Ethelyn York, Clara F. Knudson, W.T. Sparkman, Upton Sparkman, Lloyd Sparkman, and infant Wendell Sparkman.
Visitation will be 5 until 8 p.m. Saturday, February 24, 2018 at W.E. Pegues, Tupelo.
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, February 25, 2018, at First Baptist Church Verona with Dr. Jim Futral, Rev. Larry Dunlap, and Keith Wiseman officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
