VELMA SPEARMAN
Hebron Community - Velma Lee Parker Spearman, 94, died Monday, March 20, 2006, at The Sanctuary Hospice House after an extended illness. A Northeast Mississippi native, she was born December 16, 1911 to the late Smith and Hattie Mae Watkins Parker. She was a member of Eggville Freewill Baptist Church and also attended Hebron United Methodist Church. She loved her family, going to church and singing, and raising cows.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 22, 2006 at The Saltillo Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Rev. Tim Green and Rev. Wayne Thorn officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Survivors include two daughters, Eva Webb and Nell Spearman, both of the Hebron Community; one son, Garvin Spearman and wife, Linda, of Saltillo; four grandchildren, Kim Sandlin and husband, Bobby, Mark Spearman, all of Saltillo, Mike Dykes and wife, Margaret, of Mantachie, and Terry Dykes and wife, Dena, of New Albany; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, and four sisters.
Pallbearers will be Durell Hallmark, Mike Vinson, Dennis Hallmark, Tyrone Sanders, Bobby Sandlin, Robby Sandlin, and Terry Dykes.
Visitation will be form 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
