VELMA L. DAVIS

Golden-Velma L. Daivs, 74, died Monday, August 7, 2006, at The Sanctuary Hospice House after an extended illness. A Lee County native, she was born March 26, 1932 to the late William and Ludie Galloway Mason. She was a member of Old Path Baptist Church in Belmont. She was dearly loved by her family and will be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor.

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 9, 2006 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Bro. Keith Hood and Rev. Randy Gillespie officiating. Burial will be in Old Union Cemetery near Shannon.

Survivors include four daughters, Ann Harville and husband, Danny, of Pontotoc, Betty Stembridge and husband, Mike, of Mooreville, Kaye Brown and husband, Jerry, of Fulton, and Phillis Rose and fiance, Wayne Martin, of Dorsey; 13 grandchildren, Lisa, Shane and Eric Davis, Ashley Harlow, Angel Gregory, Candace Allen, Wade Irby, Misty Crocker, Amber Rollins, Tyler Brown, Crystal Wiginton, Frank Preston Wiginton, II, and Aaron Chance Olvera; 18 great-grandchildren; one sister, Lavell Mallory of Verona; a special friend, Eva Wigginton, of Red Bay, Ala.

She was preceded in death by a son, Bobby Joe Davis; a grandson, Jason Lee Brown; and one brother, W.C. Mason..

Pallbearers will be Her sons-in law, Danny Harville, Mike Stembridge, Jerry Brown, Wayne Martin, Frank Wiginton, and Mike Seawright.

Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, August 8, 2006.

Because of their great kindness during such a difficult time, the family requests memorials may be made to The Sanctuary Hospice House at PO Box 2177 Tupelo, MS 38802.
