Tupelo - VAMA LYNN WOOD WADE, 75, died Wednesday, February 13, 2008, at The North Mississippi Medical Center after an extended illness. A long time Tupelo resident, she was born February 13, 1933 in the Dorsey Community to the late Tristam W. and Nova Lee Tindall Wood. She was a 1951 graduate of Belden High School. She was married to Dexter L. Wade who preceded her in death August 20, 2007. She worked over 25 years for Partlow Builders as a bookkeeper and real estate agent. She also worked briefly for Breathco Medserv. She enjoyed playing golf, flower gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren. Her family remembers her as a wonderful cook, especially her Christmas dressing. She was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, February 15, 2008 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Dr. Ken Pollock officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park.

Survivors include one son, Jeff Wade and wife, Remona of Tupelo; two grandchildren, Abby and Conner Wade; three sisters, Arvie Roper of Belden, Rita Vinson of Clinton, Helen Gardner of Tupelo; three brothers, Royce Wood of Mooreville, Paul Wood and wife, Martha, of Plantersville, and Andy Wood of Brewer; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 52 years Dexter L. Wade; and one brother, Marvin Wood.

Her nephews will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
