TRUMAN F. PRESLEY

Nettleton - Truman Flavors Presley, 89, died Sunday, January 28, 2007, at his home in Nettleton. He was born November 6, 1917, in the Richmond Community to the late John Presley and Minnie Raper Presley. He was a lifelong resident of Lee County where he had lived most of his life in the Richmond Community. He retired from Longnecker Garment Plant in Amory where he worked over 40 years. He was a member of Nettleton Pentecostal Church. He was an Army Veteran of World War II. He was married to Bertha Leon Gilmore December 26, 1936.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Nettleton Pentecostal Church with Rev. Larry Davis, Rev. Jerry Keith, and Rev. Phil Wood officiating. Burial will be in Andrews Chapel Cemetery. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include his wife 70 years, Bertha Leon Gilmore Presley of Nettleton; one son, Truman Allen Presley and his wife, Doris, of Nettleton; one granddaughter, Sheran Ann Presley Wood and her husband, Phillip Thomas (Phil) Wood; one grandson, John Allen Presley and his wife, Veronica Lynn Presley both of Tupelo; one step-granddaughter, Angela Michelle Harden of Oxford; 5 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren; one sister, Donis Presley Deaton and her husband, Buford Deaton of the Richmond Community; one sister-in-law, Lorene Rhudy Presley of Richmond.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Minnie Presley; two sisters, Eula Mae Presley Ellis and Carthy Presley Derrick; six brothers, Lois, Sherman, Jack, Delton, Fred and Peford Presley.

Pallbearers will be Larry Deaton, Bobby Gilmore, David Lee, Al Linley, Travis Mask, and Gaylon Presley.

Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Gilmore Roger Fields, and Frosure Flynn

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

The body will lie in state Tuesday from 12:30 p.m. until service time at the Church.
