Becker - Trey Eddie Ferguson, 16, died Wednesday, October 21, 2009, at his residence after a sudden illness. He was born February 20, 1993 in Tupelo, the son of Don Ferguson and Neisha Crawford Ferguson. He was previously a member of the New Albany Football Team. He was currently a sophomore at Hatley High School. He loved playing his guitar, fishing, hunting, and spending time with his little sister. He was a member of Keownville Baptist Church and also attended Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and Amory Church of God at Hatley and was very active in the youth groups. He often spoke to youth at various churches in the area. His family remembers him as a talented young man who could make others smile when no one else could, always happy and outgoing.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Bro. Jerry Bishop officiating. Burial will be in Walton Cemetery.
Survivors include his father and step-mother, Don and Mary Ferguson of New Albany; his mother, Neisha Ferguson of Amory; his brother, Corey Epperson of Amory; his sister, Brianna Ferguson of New Albany; his grandparents, Kay Kafer (Rich) of Belden, Darnell George of Sheffield, Ala., Frank and Vicky Crawford of Faircreek, Ala., Larry George of Amory and Ronnie and Linda Morgan; his great-grandfathers, Ford McNatt of Russellville, Ala. and Robbie Bridgman of Okolona; his niece, Tully Epperson of Amory; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Eddie Ferguson; his great-grandmothers Polly Austin, Donna Russell, and Rose McNatt; his uncle Lance George; and his Papaw Elbert.
Pallbearers will be Victor McAnally, David Clayton, Casey Clayton, David Wallace Clayton, Keith Jones, Doug Morgan, Corey Sparks, Codey Stanford, Quinn Cole
Honorary Pallbearers will be the New Albany High School Football Team and the youth groups of Keownville Baptist Church and Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and Tully Epperson.
Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
