Treman Keith

Saltillo - Treman Keith, 74, died Friday, November 21, 2008, at his home in Saltillo after a brief illness. He went home to be with his Lord and Savior. An Itawamba County native, he was born August 31, 1934 to Cecil and Odena Park Keith. He was retired from Dixie Electrical in Tupelo since 2004, but was previously employed with Neely Brothers Construction in Jackson, MS for over 30 years. His greatest joy in life was helping people and taking care of his family. He loved his Lord and his church family at Grace Baptist Church of Guntown where he was an active member.

Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Grace Baptist Church of Guntown with Rev. Neil Murphy and Rev. Aaron Parker officiating. Burial will be in Saltillo Cemetery. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include his wife of 15 years, Linda Keith; his son, Eddie Keith; his daughter, Jan Keith, all of Saltillo; two brothers, Bob Keith and wife, Cumi, and James Keith and wife, Elizabeth, all of Tupelo; a sister-in-law, JoAnn Keith of Memphis, Tenn; a brother-in-law, Bill Palmer of Park City, Ill.; two step-daughters, Tonya Reid of the home and Letha Chrome of Dumas; one step-son, Ken Reid of Belmont; three grandchildren, Britney Keith of Macedonia, Brandon Keith of Saltillo, and Lisa Keith of Tupelo; three step-grandchildren, Kassie Reid of Alabama, Dustin Hill of Dumas, and David Allen Nelson II of Dumas; the mother of his children, Pat Webb of Saltillo; and a dear friend, Anita Adams.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his twin brother, Truman Keith; his uncle, Cleo Keith, and a sister-in-law, Mary Palmer.

Pallbearers will be Lannie Whitaker, Wallace Butler, Ernest Lee Webb, Johnny Keith, Jimmy Keith, Gordon Parker and Billy Flanagan.

His Sunday School Class at Grace Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Saltillo Funeral home. The body will lie in state 1 p.m. until service time Sunday at the church.
