TRAVIS E. HOLLOWAY Travis E. Holloway, 63, died peacefully on Monday, October 20, 2014 after bravely enduring an extended battled with melanoma cancer. He was born on January 31, 1951 in Calhoun county to the late Benjamin Boyd Holloway and Polly Hughes Holloway. He graduated from Calhoun City High School in 1969 where he met his wife of 39 years, Margaret A.Holloway also from Calhoun county. In 1975 they relocated permanently to their home in Tupelo. Surviving family members include his wife Margaret A. Holloway, two daughters, Kimberly Holloway Wooten (Kevin), Lindsay Holloway; three grandchildren, Marley Grace Wooten, Griffin Wooten and Maddox Wooten, all from Tupelo; two sisters, Juanita Lucius and Cathy Mosby and one brother, James Dale Holloway. He was preceded in death by his parents and six siblings. In 1983 Travis fulfilled his dream of starting his own business, Body Shop Supply, where he continued to work even while fighting cancer. Also known as "Trapp," Travis loved spending time with his three grandchildren, playing golf with his friends, and working with his cows at his farm, one of his favorite places to be. Visitation will be on Thursday, October 23 from 4-8 p.m. at W. E. Pegues Funeral Home in Tupelo. Services will take place Friday, October 24, 2014 at 1 p.m. also at Pegues. The Reverend Keith Cochran will officiate and Mr. Phil Poe will give the Eulogy. A private graveside service will be held following the funeral at Lee Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Gilbert Denley, Rick Hill, Mike Robertson, Barney Wade, and Mike Wade. Honorary pallbearers are Phil Poe and Tim Miles. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Melanoma Research Foundation at melanoma.org or 1411 K St., NW Suite 800, Washington DC 20005.
