TRAVIS GARRETT Shannon - Travis Gardner Garrett, 98, passed away at Community Hospice at Darlington Oaks, Sunday, September 6, 2015. He was born June 14, 1917, to Clarence and Minnie Ola Garrett. Travis was a lifelong farmer and resident of Shannon. Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 9, 2015, in The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues, with Pastor James H. Knight officiating. Burial will be in Old Union Cemetery. Survivors include two brothers, John W. Garrett (Pearl) of Shannon and Harold Garrett of Nettleton; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Tom Garrett; and three sisters, Edna Johnson, Thella V. Hamilton, and Mary Garrett. Pallbearers will be Richard Garrett, Dan Garrett, Paul Garrett, Kevin Coker, Joey Elliott, and Cody McCord. Visitation will be 5 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, September 8, 2015, at W. E. Pegues, Tupelo.
