Tupelo ? Dr. John Tracy Hodges, 38, died Tuesday, May 29, 2012, at his residence. He was born in Tupelo on July 7, 1973 to John Elvin and Linda Joyce Hodges. He graduated from Tupelo High School in 1991. He graduated from Mississippi State University and the University Of Mississippi School Of Dentistry and immediately entered into private practice in his hometown of Tupelo. He graduated summa cum laude with numerous honors and was ranked first in his graduating class of 1999. He was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon honorary dental society and also into the Phi Kappa Phi honor society. Commencement awards which have been presented to him include the following: Academy of Operative Dentistry Award, American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon Award, American College of Prosthodontists Achievement Award, Quintessence Publishing Company Clinical Achievement in Periodontics Award, Robert Allen May Memorial Scholarship, International College of Dentists Award, and Scholastic Achievement Award. He currently held membership in the following organizations: American Dental Association, Mississippi Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, and the Tupelo Dental Society. He was an avid supporter of Mississippi State athletics. He was a family man who adored his children.



Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, May 31, 2012 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Bro. Chad Ramsey officiating. Burial will be in Tupelo Memorial Park.



Survivors include his wife and step-son, Jessica Hodges and Corbin Whitehead of Tupelo; his three children, Peyton, Isabella and Foster Hodges; his mother and father, John and Linda Hodges of Saltillo; sister, Robin Rodgers (Jerry) and children, Matt and Drew Rodgers; brother, Andy Hodges (Debra) and children, Brittany Pierce (Barry), Brooke and Devin Franks; his in-laws, Gerald and Patti Burgess of Tupeo; the mother of his children, Tara Pazzaglia of Brandon.



He was preceded in death by his grandparents, James N. and Louise Hodges and Annie Laura and Bill Waggoner.



Pallbearers will be Kip Tigrett, Copey Grantham, Dr. Brent Crumpton, Dr. Brad Roberts, Jay Scruggs, Dr. Frank Hodges, Dr. Buddy Wikle, Dr. Barry Thornton, Dr. Jason Digby, Dr. Murray Estess, Dr. Chad Miller, Dr. Roger Huey and Dr. Brant Kairit



Visitation will be 4 - 7 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home.
