Tommy "Big T" Witt Tupelo- Tommy Witt, "Big T", went to be with his Lord and Savior Tuesday, April 14, 2015. He was born July 5, 1944, to A.T. and Sarah Witt. He graduated from Tupelo High School and Mississippi State University (1966). He then served in the United States Air Force where he was stationed in San Antonio, Texas. He touched many lives through his 30 years of coaching baseball in the Tupelo area, where he achieved over 400 wins. He was an avid Mississippi State fan, and he loved to play golf. But most of all, he was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. His grandkids were his pride and joy. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 16, at Parkway Baptist Church with Bro. Matt Scopel and Rev. John Mark Jarrett officiating. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Nancy Witt of Tupelo; his two sons, Andy Witt (Katey) of Mooreville and Chris Witt (Christy) of Tupelo and his grandchildren Katelee Witt, Tucker Witt, Summer Witt, Suzie Witt, Morgan Aldridge and Blake Aldridge. He was preceded in death by his parents, A.T. and Sarah Witt. Pallbearers will be Jim Floyd, Ben Floyd, James Harris, George Rutledge, Bo Summerford and Sam Summerford. Honorary pallbearers will be members of his Sunday school class. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Parkway Baptist Church Children and Youth Fund, 1302 Lee Street, Tupelo, MS 38804.
