Eggville - Tommy Gerald Turner, 69, died Thursday, August 27, 2009, at The North Mississippi Medical Center after a brief illness. A Lee County native, he was born September 26, 1939, to Bonnie Wesley and Christine Simpson Turner. He was a self employed dozier and backhoe opperator before his retirement. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and loved his german shepherd, Jacky. He was a member of Eggville Free Will Baptist Church.

Services will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Eggville Free Will Baptist Church with Dr. Gerald Gann officiating. Burial will be in Eggville Cemetery. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Margaret Ann Lamb Turner of Eggville; his son, Lynn Turner (Sherry) of Eggville; his daughter, Gail Harris of Saltillo; one sister, Patricia Ann Roberts (Bobby) of Baldwyn; two brothers, Bonnie Charles Turner (Ouida Mae) of Eggville and James Harold Turner of Eggville; three grandchildren, Melissa Turner of Eggville, Brandon Stanford of Lemoore, Calif., Courtney Stanford of Saltillo; three step-grandchildrn, Craig Brown of Nettleton, Brent Hall of Nettleton, and Amanda Wright of Evergreen; four great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandson, Gerald Turner; and two brothers, Joe Elbert Turner and John Earl Turner.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Stanford, Robert Hall, Wesley Turner, Kim Turner, Kevin Turner, and Shaun Byas.

Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home and 1 p.m. until service time at the church.
