TOMMY TIMMONS Saltillo - Tommy Glenn Timmons, 69, died Tuesday, December 18, 2012 from a sudden illness. He was born in Lee County on August 3, 1943 to Lawrence and Mildred Glenn Timmons. He owned and operated Timmons Woodworks. He retired with the rank of Major from the Mississippi Army National Guard after 27 years, serving in the 1st Battalion/ 198th Armor and the 155th Separate Armored Brigade. He was a Baptist. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, December 21, 2012 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Bobby Holland officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Cindy Timmons of thirty years; his daughter, Leah Caitlin Timmons of the home; his brother-in-law, Rev. Joey Goodwin (Diane) of the Carolina Community; his aunt, Ruth Hankins (Charles) of Saltillo. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Mildred Timmons; his grandparents, Bob and Lilly Timmons and Jim and Elizabeth Glenn; his in-laws, Ray and Janet Payne. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Rinaldi, Randy Wilson, Gerald Timmons, Billy Ellison, Ricky Bishop, Jamie Gunnells and Myron Kelley. Visitation will be 4 - 8 p.m. Thursday, December 20, 2012 at the funeral home.
