Thomas R. "Tommy" Jones

Saltillo - Tommy Jones, 75, passed away Monday, July 13, 2015, at North Mississippi Medical Center after a brief illness. He was born April 10, 1940 in Tupelo to Herman Eugene and Adeline Read Jones. Tommy was the owner of Jones Hardware in Saltillo until he retired. He was a member of Saltillo First United Methodist Church. A Memorial service will be 1 p.m. Sunday, July 19, 2015 at Saltillo First United Methodist Church with Rev. Tim Green officiating. Burial will be in Saltillo Cemetery. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Louise Jones; two sons, Mitchell Read Jones and Britton Jones (Katherine Calcote); one brother, H. Read Jones (Lee) all of Saltillo; two grand children, Brooklyn Jones of Pontotoc and Bradley Jones of Saltillo; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by both parents and one son, Thomas Roper Jones Jr. Visitation will be 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday, July 16, 2015 at the Saltillo funeral home.
