Saltillo " Thomas G. Tommy Jennings, 68 died November 5, 2008, at home after a short illness. A Mississippi native, he was born July 19, 1940 in Woodland, MS, to Thomas Vernon and Eva Erin Lamb Jennings. He graduated from Woodland High School. He worked at Shannon Chair Company in Houston, MS for 29 years. He enjoyed fishing and gardening. Tommy is a member of East Main Church of Christ in Tupelo, MS.
Service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, November 8, 2008 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Gary Williams officiating.
Survivors include his wife Alice Brents Jennings; a daughter, Alicia Ann Corner and husband, Scott of Carl Junction, MO; a son, Thomas Gene Jennings Jr and wife Rhonda of Terry, MS; his mother-in-law Maudie Brents of Saltillo, MS. Three grandchildren, Summer Jennings of Starkville, MS, Corye Jennings of Jackson, TN, and Brent Corner of Carl Junction, MO. Five sisters, Mary Ella Lancaster and husband Jimmy of Van Vleet, MS, Melba Reed and husband Dale of Brady, TX, Geraldine Griffin and husband Gerald of Woodland MS, Erin Porter and husband Charlie Van of Houston, MS, and Brenda Jenkins and husband Larry of Pontotoc, MS, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Eva Jennings, one sister, Betty Jo Nabors and husband Jack, his father-in-law Thomas Brents and one sister-in-law Annette Brents.
Pallbearers will be Joe Jennings, David Jennings, Charlie Van Porter, Casey Porter, Gerald Griffin, Larry Jenkins, and Jimmy Lancaster.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Bobby Franklin Jolly, David Guinn Carter, Dalin OBryan, Jeremy Thilbault, Jessie Glatt, Kenny Glatt, Brian Christopher, John Whisman, Jimmie Foster, Brian Foster, Jimmy Hoskins, and Matt Sullivan.
Visitation will be Friday, November 7th at 4:00 " 9:00 pm at the funeral home.
