THOMAS GATLIN (GAT) PALMER

Saltillo - THOMAS GATLIN PALMER, 75, died Thursday, January 4, 2007, at his residence after a brief illness. A Saltillo native, he was born March 9, 1931 to the late George Lester and Gertie Elizabeth Brock Palmer. He was a retired veteran of 30 years having served during the Korean War in the U S Army Aviation Support Facility. He was a Master Mason of Saltillo Lodge #294. He was a member of Saltillo First United Methodist Church.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, January 6, 2007 at The Saltillo Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Rev. Tim Green officiating. Burial will be in Saltillo Cemetery. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include two sisters, Ann Palmer and Mary Freeman and husband William "Smokey" both of Saltillo; one brother John Palmer of Saltillo; one niece, Angela Crafton and husband Terry of Saltillo; one nephew, Eric Freeman and wife Marie of Mantachee; one special great niece, Alexis Crafton of Saltillo.

He was preceded in death by wife Narisa Buckner Aderholt Palmer.

Pallbearers will be Richard, Billy and Jack Herring, Billy Mears, Joe Kellum and Tommy "Dodler' Smith.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Ken Snyder, Harold Deaton, Charles Owen, and coffee friends at Charlie's Restaurant.
